The world of food, gastronomy and restaurateurs has been transformed by new technologies and new media platforms. The Catalan chef Ferran Adria has been a leader in the effort to take traditional cuisine to new, unforeseen places with his molecular gastronomy. Food blogs, recommendation engines and reality TV shows have made the business and culture of cuisine a global obsession, giving everyone who eats (that would be everyone) a chance to participate in passionate conversations about their own food obsessions.
Adria’s El Bulli Foundation and Telefonica Digital have joined together to present the first edition of an event devoted to technology research, gastronomy and social media. The Lear Center’s Johanna Blakley will deliver the event’s keynote presentation about food, fashion and copyright.
